LNYE 2022 Recap:
Thank you to everyone who celebrated the first annual Lunar New Year Edmonds event with us! We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of community support and enthusiasm for this new Edmonds celebration. A big thank you to our special guests, Master David Leong and Northwest Kung Fu & Fitness, for sharing your outstanding skills and talent with us. The Lion Dance was the highlight of the day! We hope to see you every year at Lunar New Year Edmonds.
We are proud to have been able to share this celebration both uptown near the 99 corridor, and downtown at the new Winter Market. Special thanks to our uptown hosts, Edmonds Lutheran, for rescuing us when we needed a new location at the last minute!
A special thank you to those who helped us from the very beginning of this idea: the Edmonds Diversity Commission, Mayor Mike Nelson and the City of Edmonds, and the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce and Chamber Foundation. A big thank you as well as our founding sponsors; Tung & Tiffany Bui, Reece Homes, Bar Dojo, and Hunniwater, whose generous donations made it possible to pull LNYE together in just weeks!
Thank you to our other community partners, as well: the Edmonds Library, Edmonds Arts Commission, The Foundation for Edmonds School District, the Downtown Edmonds Business Association, and Edmonds Downtown Alliance. And thank you to all of our wonderful local small businesses who generously donated to our raffle and decorated your windows so beautifully in honor of our celebration!
And one final, heartfelt thank you to all of our community members and friends who encouraged us, donated their money and time, and showed up to celebrate with us. We are already getting started on planning for next year’s celebration, which will be an even bigger party!

Join Miss Kim and Miss Alex as we celebrate the Lunar New Year with a special Online Family Storytime! We’ll read stories, play games and sing songs as we learn about this rich tradition celebrated in many east Asian countries, including China, Vietnam, Singapore and South Korea.

Frances Anderson Student Art Project
As part of the celebration, an art installation designed by Edmonds-Woodway senior Caitlin Chung, with the support of the City of Edmonds Arts Commission, will be on view on the perimeter fence at Frances Anderson Center.
Edmonds School District Student Art
Lunar New Year-themed art by students from Seaview Elementary, Sherwood Elementary, and Madrona K-8 will be on display at local businesses.
